Hi to all gardeners and would be gardeners out there. This blog was originally to keep everyone informed of BLOOM 2010 and our stand -Project Nasturtium. Then it evolved into a garden tour diary. Now I have decided i will expand the subject matter to include two things that I really enjoy, gardens and food. I plan on writing not only about gardens, gardening and plants, but about visits to the Farmer’s Market, food producers, recipes and anything at all related to food, gardens and gardening.
My name is Ciaran Burke and I am a plantaholic. I have been gardening since I was seven, that is more than 30 years. I want to share my passion for plants, gardens and gardening with others.I also love cooking and eating good food, preferably organic and food which is natural and free from additives. If it can be home grown or locally produced then all the better.
Together with my partner Hanna, I run THE GARDEN SCHOOL. We run home study courses in horticulture and gardening including RHS courses and also garden design courses. We also hold courses in Galway, these are part time courses, and every month or so we are involved with residential courses in the beautiful Cashel House Hotel and Gardens; information about all these activities is on our website www.thegardenschool.ie
